This feature allows you to control which products are available for specific delivery or collection options. It offers flexibility in managing product availability across different distribution methods.
How to Change Distribution Methods for a Product
- Go to the product and locate the ‘Enabled distribution methods’ section.
- Adjust availability under ‘All,’ ‘Delivery,’ or ‘Collection points.’
- Enable/disable methods using the buttons or checkboxes.
- Save changes to confirm.
If a product is disabled for a customer’s distribution method, it’s removed from their basket.
Storefront Behaviour
- Available products show the ‘Add to basket’ button.
- Unavailable products show ‘Change to add,’ prompting customers to update their delivery method to purchase the product. If changed, unavailable items in their basket will be flagged for removal.
What is limiting products by distribution method?
This functionality gives you the ability to manage what products are sold on particular distribution methods. For example you may only want some products to be available for collection from your delivery base or some products may only be available at particular times of the week. This gives you more flexibility when managing your product range over multiple delivery and collection options.
How to change distribution methods available for a product
To change the availability of a product on a distribution method, navigate to the specific product you want to edit settings for.
Under ‘Enabled distribution methods’ you can change the availability of the product. Your distribution methods are summarised under ‘All’, ‘Delivery’ and ‘Collection points’.
Next to any delivery areas the specific delivery round is shown next to it, to help identify the distribution methods you need to change.
You can also search for a distribution method using the search box.
In each distribution method section you can ‘enable’ and ‘disable’ all by using the buttons provided. Or alternatively you can use the tick boxes next to the each option to either enable or disable that distribution method.
Once you have finished making changes hit ‘save’ to confirm the changes.

Changing availability and removal of customer subscriptions - If a distribution method is disabled on a product and a customer has the product in their basket who is on a now disabled distribution method. The product will be removed from their basket.
Store front behaviour
When distribution settings are changed on a product this alters how it can be ordered in your store. If the item is available on the distribution method of the customer who is shopping, the item will appear with the normal ‘Add to basket’ button when they want to add the item to their basket. If the item is not available for their distribution method the button will appear as ‘Change to add’, firstly preventing the customer from being able to order the product but also prompting the customer to change their delivery method if they want to order the product.

When ‘Change to add’ is selected it brings up the list of delivery methods that the product is available on and that are available to the customer depending on your distribution settings. The customer can then select and update their delivery method. This will then release the ordering options on the product enabling the customer to add the product to their basket.

If the customer changes their delivery method in their customer account area and a product in their basket is not available on the new delivery method. The items that are not available will be flagged in a pop up. The customer can then either confirm the change in delivery method or close and stop the change.
