Manage
Product availability by week
Limit the shopping of certain items to specific weeks
Make a product available to order for only a specific week or range of weeks — ideal for one-off and pre-order items. This guide covers how to set it up, what customers see, and how it affects baskets and recurring orders.
How to set product availability by week
Before you start
- This setting is for one-off and pre-order products — items customers buy for a specific delivery week rather than on repeat.
- You can only select a range of consecutive weeks (a start week and an end week).
- Setting available weeks switches off Allow recurring orders for the product until the weeks are reset.
Follow these steps to limit a product to a specific week or range of weeks. Each step is shown next to the matching screenshot from the admin.
Step 1 — Open the Availability tab
Open the product you want to update, then click the ‘Availability’ tab at the top. This opens the availability settings, which also include ‘Christmas’ and ‘Distribution method settings’.

Step 2 — Choose the start and end weeks Under ‘Available weeks’, click the ‘Start week’ field to open the week selector and pick the correct week (clicking any date selects the week it falls in). Click ‘ok’ to confirm, then repeat for the ‘End week’ field.

Please note: Only consecutive weeks can be selected for limited available weeks.
Step 3 — Save your changes
Click ‘save’. The chosen availability weeks now appear in the completed fields, and the product is limited to those weeks.

Expected result: the chosen weeks show in the Start week and End week fields, and the product is now limited to those weeks.
Resetting availability
To make the product available again without week limits, click the ‘reset weeks’ button under the ‘End week’ field. This removes the selected weeks. Then click ‘save’ to apply the change.
What customers see on the storefront
Once availability is applied, the date selector on the product page updates automatically so customers can only choose valid weeks.

The sections below explain how the setting behaves once it's live.
How availability changes affect customer baskets
If you change a product’s week availability and remove weeks that were previously available, the product is automatically removed from any basket where the selected week no longer matches the product’s availability.
Example: an item is available between week 17 and week 23, and some customers have added it to their basket for week 23. If you then change the end week to week 22, the item is no longer available in week 23 — so it is automatically removed from those customers’ baskets.
Product becomes disabled: once the last available week has passed, the product is automatically disabled.
Availability and recurring items
When availability weeks are set on a product, the ‘Allow recurring orders’ toggle will be automatically switched off and is locked until the product is not limited by available weeks. It’s not possible for a product to be only available for limited weeks and be available as a recurring item. Recurring orders in customers baskets will be removed if availability weeks are set.

Product availability settings shouldn’t be used to manage business closures, as recurring orders will become disabled. Instead, set a delivery break.
FAQ & troubleshooting
Can I select non-consecutive weeks?
No — only a single continuous range can be set. Choose a start week and an end week, and every week in between is included automatically.
Why is ‘Allow recurring orders’ greyed out?
Setting available weeks automatically disables recurring orders for that product, and it stays locked until you reset the weeks. A product can't be limited to specific weeks and be available as a recurring item at the same time.
What happens to items already in customers' baskets if I change the weeks?
If a customer has the item in their basket for a week that's no longer available, it's removed from their basket automatically.
What happens when the last available week passes?
The product is automatically disabled once its final available week has passed.
How do I make a product available all year again?
Open the product's Availability tab, click ‘reset weeks’ under the End week field, then click ‘save’.
