This guide walks you through the first three things to do, then explains what to expect during setup. Read time: about 5 minutes.

Start here: three things to do first
Get yourself set up and connected with the Growing Good team. Please complete these three steps before your first call with us.
1. Book a call with Martin
We'll discuss your go-live date, customer onboarding, and initial setup.
2. Join our Discord server
When you join, set your display name as Your Name (Business Name) so we can add you to the right channel.
3. Log into the GG admin
Use the admin link from your kick-off email. You'll also have received an invite to set a password — check your inbox (and spam folder) if you haven't seen it.

Inside your Growing Good admin, go to Help → Veg Box AI to ask questions about setup. It's trained on our documentation and can answer most common queries instantly.
What happens next
🎯 Setting your go-live date
In your initial call with Martin we'll set a target go-live date with you and put together a plan for transitioning to the platform. The target go-live date is important because it:
- Helps us plan our time
- Gives you a focused time frame to complete the setup in
- Gives your customers a fixed time frame to onboard in (if applicable)
In return for Martin's time, we ask for your commitment to hitting this deadline and completing the setup tasks.
🛒 Your storefront and admin sites
When you first start the setup, we'll provide you with two links:
- Your temporary storefront — the site you're building ahead of launch, which will eventually become your live site.
- Your admin site — where you'll log in to handle everything from initial setup, site design, and product management to fulfilling orders.

👥 Customer onboarding
In your initial call we'll decide together whether customer onboarding is right for you.
Customer onboarding (link to doc) is a pre-sign-up site that lets your customers create an account and add a payment method, ready for when your site goes live.
Whether we run a customer onboarding phase depends on factors such as:
- Your current weekly subscription numbers
- The format of your existing customer subscription data
On go-live day we'll take your data and apply it to your onboarded customers, ensuring no regular orders are lost.
📊 Data migration
Transferring large amounts of customer data can feel daunting, but we're experienced with handling a wide range of formats.
In your kick-off call with Martin, if we're proceeding with customer onboarding, we'll discuss the format of your data — and may ask for a sample.
We provide a spreadsheet template for you to complete when we transfer your data as part of the go-live process. It's important to understand upfront whether you have the data we need to transfer subscriptions.
Working with us
💬 How we communicate during setup
We use Discord for day-to-day communication during setup. It's designed for quick messages and gives the whole team visibility — so if someone is on leave, another team member can pick things up without delay.
Depending on how close you are to go-live, you'll also have a regular call slot with Martin. These calls are for:
- Asking any questions that have come up
- Walking through parts of the system you're unsure about
- Business and operational advice, and how it translates into your setup

📋 Your onboarding dashboard
After your initial call with Martin, we'll provide you with an onboarding dashboard. This includes:
- All your links in one place
- Important dates for your diary
- Notes from our calls, so you can revisit action points from previous meetings
We use this to track your progress through setup and make sure nothing is missed.
🎨 Website design support
Whether you're just starting out or already have an established brand, we can offer help and advice on website design. In your initial call with Martin we can set a preset theme and templates based on designs currently used on the platform, getting you started quickly. We have resources both within the team and our wider community to support with site design and branding. Bring this up on one of your calls with Martin.
