Setting Up Distribution Methods
Distribution methods are the delivery options your customers choose from — split into delivery areas and collection points. Both are attached to a delivery round, so customers get assigned to the correct round automatically when they sign up.
Creating a Delivery Area
- Navigate to Settings → Distribution Methods
- On the Delivery Area tab, click New Delivery Area
- Enter the postcode you want to add — if it's a full postcode, toggle off Partial Match Postcode
- Select the delivery round this postcode should attach to
- Add a delivery cost for the area, if different — this overrides the cost set on the delivery round
- Click Create Delivery Area
⚠️ Watch out for duplicate postcode areas — e.g. adding both SW1 and SW11 will overlap, since SW1 as a partial match covers SW11 and SW12 too.
Creating a Collection Point
- Navigate to Settings → Distribution Methods
- Click the Collection Points tab
- Click New Collection Point
- Fill in the fields:
Field | What it means |
Name | Name of the collection point |
Delivery round | The delivery round this collection point belongs to |
Cost | Collection cost, if different from the delivery round's cost |
Capacity | Maximum capacity — for reporting purposes only, not enforced |
Opening times | Days and times customers can collect their order |
Instructions | Instructions for customers collecting their order |
Entry code | Building or padlock entry code, if applicable |
Allow new customers | Toggle off once the collection point is no longer accepting new customers |
- Click Create Collection Point
- Add the collection point's address, then click Create Address to finish
