Website navigation settings and activating your store

Make your products and categories live

⚠️

To enable shopping on your site and to follow the required steps, you need to first make sure you have created product categories and created and attached the appropriate products to the categories.

On your storefront website, store links are kept separate from standard content pages.

  • In Standard Navigation, store links appear in the lower navigation menu.
  • In Advanced Navigation, store links appear under the “Shop” menu.

The storefront structure works by adding parent product categories to the Shop navigation. This allows customers to quickly and easily browse products within each category.

Activating the Store in Your Header Settings

To activate and manage your store categories in the navigation:

Step 1

In your Growing Good admin, navigate to:

Settings → Header

Step 2

Click the ✏️ icon next to the Shop navigation menu.

This opens the page selector.

Step 3

In the left-hand column, select the parent product categories you want to display by ticking the checkbox next to each one.

Step 4

Click the > arrow in the middle to move the selected categories into the Shop menu.

Step 5

Click Done to confirm your changes.

💡 Removing Categories from Your Store

To remove a parent product category from the Shop navigation:

  1. Open the page selector again (as above).
  1. In the right-hand column, select the categories you want to remove.
  1. Click the < arrow to move them back to the left column.
  1. Click Done to confirm.

Adding Content Pages to Your Navigation Menu

Once a content page has been created and is ready to go live, you can add it to your website navigation.

Editing Header or Footer Navigation

Step 1

To edit header navigation links:

  • Navigate to: Settings → Store

To edit the About Us links in the footer:

  • Go to your content page list.
  • Click Edit on your Home page.

Step 2

Click the ✏️ icon next to either:

  • Top navigation menu (Header), or
  • About us menu (Footer)

This will open the page selector.

💡

💡 When to Use the Footer (“About Us”) Menu

Footer links are best used for important informational content that doesn’t need to sit in the main top navigation, such as:

  • FAQs
  • Terms & Conditions
  • Privacy Policy
  • Contact Us
  • Delivery Information

These pages are important but don’t need to be front and centre in your primary navigation.

Step 3

In the left-hand column, select the pages you want to add by ticking the checkboxes.

Step 4

Click the > arrow in the middle to move them into the navigation menu.

Step 5

Click Done to confirm the additions.
