Example box contents – Growing Good

Our example box contents feature enables you to show box contents on veg box products in the instances where real box contents are not published. This ensures that any potential customers can view what to expect to receive when they place an order. This guide walks you through how to easily set this up in the Growing Good admin.

Setting Example Box Contents

Go to the product you want to add examples to.

Click the *Vegbox Options** tab.

Select *Add Product** and search for items you'd like to include.

Repeat to build up your example box list.

These are saved as static suggestions, not real-time stock or box data.

When Example Box Contents Are Shown

Displayed on the storefront only when real box contents are not published.

Clearly labeled as "Example Box Contents" to avoid confusion.

As soon as you publish actual box contents, the example contents are replaced automatically.

Use Cases

Here are some ways you can use example contents effectively:

🧺 Always-On Examples: For veg box products that never have box contents (e.g., gift boxes or sample boxes).

⏳ In-Between Weeks: Helps bridge periods when you've processed one week's orders but haven't yet published the next week's box contents—so your site still looks populated for potential customers.

Setting example box contents

To set example box contents against a product navigate to the product - then click on the ‘vegbox options’ tab.

Click on ‘add product’ then search for the product you would like to the example contents. Click on the product and then repeat adding more products until you are happy with the example contents that have been set.

When do the example box contents show?

If example box contents are defined - these will be visible in your store on the veg box product blocks at any point when box contents are not published.

These are displayed with the title ‘Example Box Contents’ to make it clear that the contents displayed are not real box contents.

When box contents are published the real box contents defined in the box builder will show instead of the example box contents.

How to use the example box contents

There are various scenarios where you can utilise this feature to improve the customer experience on your site. Here are a couple of suggestions:

For showing example box contents for items that you don’t add box contents for. This could be all or just some of your veg box products.

It can be used to bridge the gap between box contents publishing. For example if your orders have processed and you have not yet published box contents for the next week. Example box contents can be shown to any potential customers looking at the site.
